Dear TIG Members and Friends,

I just wanted to inform you that registration for VIMUN has started. You can find the online registration form on the website of www.vimun.at under Admissions at the very bottom where a link will take you there.

Just to give you a brief overview of the event I will provide with some details below.

This year's VIMUN will be 10th VIMUN. At the same time we will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the United Nations Headquarter in Vienna.

VIMUN is a UN simulation conference where young people between the age 18 and 35 will get the possibility to play the roles of diplomats in a simulation of UN agencies like the Security Council, the Commission on Human Rights, the International Labour Organization.

Topics that will be covered by VIMUN include Child Trafficking, Truth Commissions, Youth Employment and Technology Transfer to Developing Countries.

All topics will be inter-linked and will give participants the opportunity of interacting and thinking in a new and creative way.

Consequently, VIMUN will also pay tribute major events taking place this year. The Year to Commemorate the Slave Trade will be paid attention to as well as the Youth Employment Summit and the International Youth Parliament.

The organizers of VIMUN, the United Nations Youth and Student Association of Austria, hope that VIMUN 2004 will become an exciting event where people from all over the world are able to share their opinions and thoughts.
